Chinese New Year
Our children in Foundation have been learning about Chinese New-year. Both classes have looked at how it is celebrated all over the world. They have made Chinese dragons from paper, folding it carefully and adding a head and tail. They have painted the animals form the story, found out the animal of their year of birth and even had a go at their own dragon dance accompanied by their own Chinese music. They have also tasted Chinese food and set up their own Chinese restaurant in the classrooms. They learnt that Chinese dragons are friendly and are often red and gold, colours which symbolize good luck.
