A wise partnership

Throughout the last term, pupils and teachers from Frank Wise school in Banbury have been working with Year 6, based in Mr Hartwell’s class. Jacob and Lydia from class 6H tell us all about it…
Seven very confident and cool people have been visiting our school during last term. We all worked together on a really fun project that involved lots of paint and a few old pieces of furniture.
With Frank Wise we have been looking at the willow pattern that is often seen on plates and bowls. The painting tells a love story about a Japanese princess and one of her father’s workers. You can find our version of the paintings in the entrance area. As a consequence of doing this we somehow managed to get paint all over ourselves. Also, we have been learning how to communicate with a kind of sign language called Makaton. We learnt how to retell famous fairy stories as well as making up our own.
This term in groups of nine we are going down to Frank Wise and are going to be doing lots of fun activities. Possibly getting muddy! Unfortunately, we will not have time to go in their warm, beautiful swimming pool.
We have really enjoyed our time with them at our school and are looking forward to going to theirs. It has been great making new friends. We can’t wait to see them again, it’s been so much fun hanging out with them.

Please take a look at the display in our school foyer which includes some of the pieces of furniture the children worked on and more photographs. Watch this space in future weeks to find out what our pupils got up to when hosted by Frank Wise.
