Midsummer Fun
30th June 2017
On behalf of the school and our children, thank you to everyone who had a hand in putting together such a successful Midsummer Festival and evening Fair today.
At the Festival, it was wonderful to see Mr Percival as our very honoured VIP to crown our King and Queen (as voted for by year 6). He popped in to each of the classrooms to say hello before the festival began. How lovely also that Mr King was able to travel back to be with us for the afternoon.
Well done to everyone who planned and choreographed the dances and to the children for dancing with such gusto and brightening our day. Thanks go to the family and friends who came along to support the children, to those who baked and donated cakes, who brought flowers, who dressed the stage, who ran the refreshments stall, who created such beautiful flower displays and for anyone not mentioned who had a hand behind the scenes.
The Midsummer Festival is a celebration of fun and dance but it is also a celebration of our wonderful school, village and family community who came together again for the Fair in the evening. The threatened rain held off for most of the evening which meant the children could enjoy almost every minute of the bouncy castle, inflatable slide, climbing wall, football, Year 6 stalls and more besides. Whilst they were playing the adults were enjoying the delights of the BBQ, bar, cream teas and even a little retail therapy. Rounding off the evening was some wonderful live music.
There are too many people to thank individually for the running of the Summer Fair. So many parents and staff will have signed up for time slots on various stalls or kept going all through the evening to serve us and ensure that the Summer Fair we love so much could go ahead. Many will have been in school from early this morning setting up for the Festival dances and will still be there clearing up after many have gone home. Huge thanks go to the Parents' Association for all of the planning and preparation. We know you have been working on this evening for months and hope you enjoyed yourself as much as everyone else did.
