Farewell Year 6
22nd July 2015
Our graduating Year 6s have spent their final days and hours in Primary school and are now ready to move on to bigger and hopefully even better things.
We kept them busy in their final few days however. Last week saw the Year 6 farewell performance with all of the children working together to produce a series of sketches about their memories of time in MCPA. They wrote and directed the sketches themselves and Doctor Who even showed up to take us back through the past seven years. The final song, 'See you again', was a real tear jerker as emotions rose - a little sadness at leaving but also a lot of hope and excitement about the future and what it holds. The backdrop to the performance was the self-portraits painted by each young person which they took home at the end of term, so they will always remember what they looked like at this important stage of their lives.
The wall art project was completed and will remain in place in the school foyer until the summer of next year - a gift and legacy from our children to remember them by. Next came the t-shirt signing, scouring the school getting friends and staff to write messages of good luck to send them on their way. Another memory to keep and look back on in future years. The farewells were rounded off with a trip to the bowling alley for a few games and a basket meal.
To our Year 6s, we will miss you all very much and hope that at least some of you will pop by to visit from time to time. Many good things lie ahead of you - the possibilities for what you can achieve are endless and we encourage you to challenge yourselves, try new things, push out of your comfort zone, support one another and dream. Here is a poem for you all. Good luck.
