Blenheim Palace Awards
22nd Oct 2013
At Duke, a stately home, high tea, and an award were the order of the day for a delegation of MCCPS pupils and staff invited to Blenheim Palace on Friday 10 May.
Three pupils, accompanied by Mrs Pinkney and Mr Percival, represented a group of 26 Year 2 and 3 pupils who had won a Group Prize in The Duke of Marlborough’s Annual Heritage Education Awards, 2012.
Our pupils visited the Palace in May 2012 whilst they were in Years 1 and 2. Following their trip, the children worked collaboratively to design and produce an award winning flag for the Palace and in due course, our representatives were invited to join with other winners at the prestigious prize giving ceremony.
They spent a memorable day touring Blenheim Palace and its gardens and meeting the Duke of Marlborough before the ceremony where they were presented with a framed certificate and a beautiful signed book on the history of Blenheim Palace. The day was rounded off with a delicious high tea in The Orangery and a chance to see the work of the various winning schools.
We are extremely proud of everyone who was involved in creating the winning art work. All 26 children received their own certificate to commemorate their achievement. Very well done!
