Following on from the post about Poem of the Week, here's what Year 1 have been up to:

Year 1 were very busy last week, studying the fabulous poem Chocolate Cake by Michael Rosen.  The children have loved watching him perform this poem online and if you want to watch him with your children, here’s the link:

The children wrote their own chocolate cake poem after smelling, gazing at and sampling a delicious cake made by Mrs Yardley-Barnes.  We hope to send the poems to Michael Rosen once they have been written up in best.

Also last week, we created monsters and learnt how to count on using a number line.
