Busy time for Year 3
16th Dec 2014
Year 3 have been busy in the past few weeks with a ukulele performance for their parents and in Mrs Hornby's cookery club.
Throughout the term each Year 3 class has had a weekly session with a ukulele teacher from the County. They have learnt how to strum in time, how to change chords and how to sing and play at the same time (tricky multi-tasking). At the end of their time the Year 3 parents were invited to come along and hear what the children had been learning. For many this was the first time they had learnt an instrument and the first time they had performed in public. Well done to everyone.
Year 3 have also been busy learning to cook with Mrs Hornby. She has been running a series of small group sessions at lunchtimes and after school allowing each child who is interested, the opportunity to take part. The children prepare and cook all their ingedients from fresh, lay the table, serve one another and eat together. The meatballs smelled especially good!
