Fun at the Fair
29th June 2014
Thankfully, the rain which had forced the postponement of the Midsummer Festival earlier in the day cleared away, allowing Friday evening's Summer Fair to be a raving success for yet another year.
There was something for everyone; the active went crazy on the Go Karts, space hoppers and bouncy castles. Those in need of decoration went for temporary tattoos or visited the nail bar. If you were hungry you probably headed for the outdoor barbecue or into the hall for hotdogs, cakes, icecream and the well stocked bar. Local band Watch the Raven played for the second year running and sounded fantastic - I hope everyone was listening - and congratulations go to all of our raffle winners too.
Many of the Year 6 children served us fantastically well running the fun stalls with games and activities for the children (and some of us adults - I was very pleased with my tattoo!). They and an array of parents and school staff gave up much or all of their evening to keep us entertained and huge thanks go to everyone who was involved in planning, setting up, running activities and the clean up operation at the end. We're so proud of our hard working and fun loving school community.
As well as being lots of fun, the Summer Fair is the Parents' Association's biggest fund raising event of the year and all proceeds will be going towards installing a large piece of play equipment in the playground - benefiting every child in the school. Our School Council are considering forts, castles and sunken boats! Thank you to everyone who came, had fun, and paid their money towards this worthwhile cause. We will let you know the total raised in due course.
