Xin Nian Kuai Le
6th Feb 2014
Roughly translated as Happy New Year in Cantonese (according to the internet!)
The Reception children had a wonderful time last week experiencing a taste of China in honour of this special time of year. They made dragon masks and some dressed up to perform a traditional dance in the hall whilst their classmates provided musical accompaniment on drums and other percussion instruments.

Each child was also involved in making spring rolls which were cooked in school and then tasted. There were a range of facial expressions during the tasting according to whether the children liked the food or not (!) but we were very proud of them for being willing to try what for some was a completely new taste or texture.
