World Book Day
6th March 2015
In celebration of World Book Day, the whole school dressed up as their favourite characters. Many classes enjoyed special activities celebrating all things book related and lots of fun was had with some amazing stories read. Children had opportunities to reflect on and share details of their favourite books and to express why the stories were so important to them. 3W even did pieces of work on a book without words!
World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading, designated by UNESCO and marked in over 100 countries all over the world. 14 million £1 book tokens were given out on the day - that’s almost one for every child/young person under 18 in the UK and Ireland. Don't forget to use the token given to your child to get one of a special list of books for free, or alternatively to get £1 off the cost of any other book costing £2.99 or more. Take a look at the world book day website for details of the books which are available free of charge
