Operation chick watch 2
30th April 2014
What a difference a few hours make. Yesterday's blog told you about the first of the KS2 chicks to hatch - this morning there were four babies waiting for us and shortly after, a fifth and a sixth!
As you can see from the pictures, they are proving very popular and everyone has tried to visit them at least once during the day - some of us many times as they are very cute and more than a little addictive!
Once the five older chicks had dried out in their small incubator, they were moved to larger housing where they can begin eating, drinking and growing day by day. Apparently you can tell the gender of the chicks by their colour - lemon = male and brown = female.
If you would like to know more about the chicks and the company that provided them, please visit their website - www.livingeggs.co.uk
Can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring!
